LAHORE: Owing to the security concerns for Youm-e-Ashura – and for public safety – pillion riding has completely been banned across several cities, a local news channel reported.
According to the news channel, officials have detained 140 motorbikes for violating the ban across Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Multan and several other cities. Moreover, pillion riding would also be banned in Narowal and certain other smaller cities.
Apart from that, nobody is allowed to ride a motorbike in Dera Ismail Khan for the two days of Ashura. There would also be strict checking measures across the entrance and exit passages of the city.
