RAWALPINDI: A day-long Formation Commanders’ Conference, held here at the General Headquarters on Thursday, discussed the prevailing internal and external security situation of the country.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif chaired the conference and held exhaustive discussion on professional matters with the participants.
While underscoring multiple and complicated challenges faced by Pakistan, the army chief expressed his optimism and said the Pakistani nation had been victim of terrorism for over a decade and sacrificed a lot,
Acknowledging the contributions made by officers and men towards making Zarb-e-Azb military operation a success and now successfully transiting into final phases, he said army would always come up to the expectations of the entire Pakistani nation.
Expressing satisfaction on the pace of return of temporarily displaced persons, General Sharif paid tribute to valiant tribes for their unwavering support in fight against terrorism and stressed quality and speed of the rehabilitation and resettlement work in FATA.
“We are aware of all hostility being perpetrated against the upcoming China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which promises to transform the lives of people of Pakistan. We are ready to pay any price to turn this long cherished dream into reality,” he said.
